Eliminate a Shadow?
[wpv-post-taxonomy type="variant" format="name"] # [types field='ep'][/types]
The shadow is often misunderstood. Popularized by Carl Jung, it refers to the parts of ourselves we reject or hide—traits, emotions, or memories we’ve labeled as ‘bad’ or ‘unacceptable.’ But no matter what you do to try and keep those parts hidden, they are still part of you.
The work isn’t about erasing your shadow; it’s about uncovering it, illuminating it, healing it, and integrating it. Let me say that again because it’s important: the shadow isn’t something to destroy—it’s something to embrace. Let’s unpack what that means.
(Please watch the video for more—and remember to leave a comment in the space below!)
I invite you to stop thinking about your shadow as an enemy that you have to keep at bay or that you have to somehow eliminate from your essence. Instead, take the time to get to know your shadow, and to engage the tools of uncovering, illuminating, healing and integrating. You’ll soon realize that your shadow has many gifts and talents that you can begin to bring more fully into your life. And soon enough, you’ll come to think of your shadow as a friend. Enjoy the journey, and feel free to reach out if you would like some one-on-one support.
