Illusion of Safety

In the last couple of years, I’ve noticed a trend in the way people communicate with each other as they end a conversation and go their separate ways. It used to be that friends would end a conversation with something like “See you later”, “See you around”, “Have a great weekend”, or something similar. But I’ve begun to notice a lot more people saying “Stay safe” or “Be safe” or “Drive safe”, or something else with the word “safe” or “safety” in it.

There’s nothing wrong with wishing for people to be safe—I think it’s actually a message that is intended to come from the heart and to wish only the best for someone. But there is a powerful unconscious undertone that accompanies the message that I’m worried most people are not really aware of. And our collective obsession with safety has been growing stronger since long before the Covid pandemic came into our awareness. Furthermore, there seems to be an associated trend demanding that various public service agencies perform some kind of magic to ensure maximum levels of safety for people. And I’m really wondering what is the cost.

Remember, while there is no reason to take unnecessary risks in life, I encourage you to remember to live full-out, so that you can express and experience all of who you are—a divine, magnificent, unlimited, spiritual being of light and love who is having a human experience on the physical plane.
